I am a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Practitioner Psychologist (membership number: PYL38810), a Chartered Member (CPsychol) of the British Psychological Society (membership number: 247131), and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (AFBPsS).
I currently work in private practice providing psychological therapy to individuals with a wide range of difficulties. I offer online and in-person therapy in Kensington, Chiswick, and Tunbridge Wells.
My aim is to assist individuals to meet their needs and support them through their journey of achieving their goals and reaching their full potential. I perceive therapy as a crucial element in the management of both mental and physical health. I believe that through therapy, individuals can develop their emotional awareness and growth, and subsequently live a more enriched life by improving their coping skills and managing their mental and/or physical
health in a more beneficial way.
I integrate several therapeutic models within my work, take into consideration all the different demographic and personal factors, and I am highly aware of the need to adopt a tailored approach to each individual client. I utilise Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), commonly used to treat mood disorders, chronic pain management, and different type of addictions, among others. I also use Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), psychodynamic therapy, and person-centred therapy. I am a welcoming, kind and compassionate clinician and I always work in accordance with professional practice guidelines (HCPC and BPS).
I have been working in mental health since 2012 and I specialise in individuals who suffer from a wide range of complex and longstanding conditions, such as anxiety disorders, depression, personality disorders, alcohol/drug/gambling and other addictions, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), psychosis, burnout, vicarious trauma, and others. I have also treated people who have physical conditions (e.g., diabetes, chronic pain, obesity) comorbid with mental health conditions (e.g., depression, anxiety).
I have also been trained to carry out specialised assessments for diagnostic and/or clinical purposes and I am highly skilled in critically evaluating the meaning and possible neuropsychological causes of individual behaviour. Specifically, I am experienced in carrying out assessments for ADHD, personality disorders, risk of violence, memory, and dysexecutive syndrome.
I received my doctorate Psychology degree from City St George’s, University of London in 2020, and my doctoral thesis was about the vicarious trauma that psychologists who work in the National Health Service (NHS) endure. My training took place in the West London NHS Trust, and I was supervised by Dr Angela Manning, Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist. I rotated in inpatient adult mental health wards, community mental health services, and older people and dementia services.
In 2018, I was the first author on the scientific paper titled “Effectiveness of plant-based diets in promoting well-being in the management of type 2 diabetes: a systematic review” which was published in the British Medical Journal Open Diabetes Research and Care (https://drc.bmj.com/content/6/1/e000534.info).
Additionally, I have received two Master of Science (MSc) Psychology degrees from the University of Edinburgh (2009) and City St George’s, University of London (2011) respectively. During my first MSc degree in Counselling Studies, I specialised in the attachment relationship between parents and their children, while in my second MSc degree in Health Psychology, I focused on the impact of burnout on healthcare professionals and its association with job satisfaction and community mismatches.
I have undertaken the specialised training courses provided by the UK Adult ADHD Network, titled “Diagnosis and assessment of adults with ADHD”, “Pharmacological treatment for adults with ADHD”, and “Psychosocial support and skills training for adults with ADHD”. I have also undertaken training courses provided by the NHS Scotland School of Forensic Mental Health about complex and developmental trauma, and mentalisation based therapy (MBT).
